Special Olympics & Paddle All

Paddle All Program

This program is for individuals with a cognitive, intellectual, and/or physical disability.

Paddle All is a program introduced by Canoe Kayak Canada (CKC) to promote paddling for individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. Recreational canoes and kayaks are used to introduce paddlers with intellectual and developmental disabilities to the sport of paddling. The program includes a safety orientation, technical instruction, and instruction by experienced coaches. Each paddler will have an experienced paddling partner for 1:1 support. Although all abilities are welcome, paddlers must be comfortable on the water.

Athletes (10-16 years) registered in this program meet twice a week. Every paddler, with their coach, chooses their own boat based on comfort level and the training is tailored to meet each paddler's needs. The focus is on fun and safety.

  • Program delivery is subject to sufficient participant registration.

  • For introduction to the program there are two “Try it Out” days. Try-It-Out days are June 14th and June 21st.  Each day will have two, one hour groups.
