Learn to Paddle with our Spring after school sessions or our 1/2 day Summer paddling Camps. Paddlers will learn all the basic skills to join the WRCC Team or just to paddle the family canoe at the cottage.
Experience single, double and four person racing canoes and kayaks; The 15 person Canadian War Canoe and 10 or 20 person dragon boat. Each camp will end with a fun regatta where athletes show off all the new skills with canoe club buddies.
Note: Paddlers will not be on the water in extreme weather conditions. However, we have a rainy-day plan so rain or shine the show goes on.

Participants must have a minimum swim competency. If asked to demonstrate swim ability the paddlers must be able to tread water for 1.5 minutes, stay afloat for 5 minutes without assistance, swim 75 metres (any stroke, any speed) without a lifejacket or other flotation device. We can not stress enough the risk of putting non-swimmers on the water, it not only presents a risk to the participant but for staff and other participants as well. If you are unsure of the ability to meet the minimum swim ability we encourage you to visit a local pool were there is a lifeguard present and try it out.
* All U15 participants must wear life jackets or PFDs any time they are on the water
